Chris, this bulletin board serves as a convenient, centralized forum for posting progress reports concerning work that I am doing and that others are doing. It has the advantage over the Newsgroups in that it represents a somewhat protected environment. They can be downright dangerous for a variety of reasons. The information which I post here is intended for people around the world who visit the bulletin board, some of whom I also communicate with by e-mail. What I am objecting to is the fact that certain people are criticizing my work and making demands without even bothering to visit my Web site, read the lengthy, detailed technical reports which are stored there, and understand the subject matter. As a type of very important hobby I work on projects which are designed to save lives. And I am quite good a this. You have repeatedly seen the results of my efforts discussed in the national and international news. That virus work would be one example. With another I believe that NASA is still using information which I provided the U.S. with years ago regarding the importance of the International Space Station. With yet another, U.N. and international disaster mitigation group personnel have been discussing a proposal I sent them for how to organize an effort to develop an efficient and effective international disaster response program. So as something of an expert on this I will say again, when people are dealing with problems such as earthquakes which can claim 100,000 lives in a few minutes they have to be extremely careful about what they say and do so that they do not inadvertently cause major problems and cost lives. People posting notes here have said repeatedly that they don’t understand the technology that I have developed. Yet at the same time they are willing to criticize it as if they are experts. And in my opinion that can then endanger tremendous numbers of lives. People don’t need to comment on my notes. But if they do that and go into an attack mode in the process I am not going to just sit there and watch while they propagate ideas which I feel could result in lives being lost. The moral of the story is, “When dealing with something where lives are at stake, people should not interfere with what they don’t understand.” These are personal opinions.
