Hi Folks,

For whatever reason, I've come to be addicted to this web site over the last 3 months. This is the first (post-password) post that I'm making. However, having watched whats been going on here for some time, I kind of feel like part of the crowd. (I'm looking forward to being HAZED in my freshman month!)

Today's earthquake related post is actually retrospective . . . . I recently found an excellent web site on the history of the Santa Clarita Valley. There are daguerrotypes from the late 1800's and photographs up until recently. Of particular interest is the documentation of the St. Francis Dam disaster in San Francisquito Canyon. It is believed that this dam collapsed because it was constructed on a fault that was unknown at the time. (You may, however, be interested in checking out the whole site.) The link is below . . . .

P.S.S. Despite the fact that some predictions didn't come through, isn't it interesting that an appreciable amount of people were having like symptoms at the same time that Dennis and others were getting readings. Maybe just because an earthquake didn't happen doesn't mean that it wasn't getting ready to happen?!?
