I suspect that even if you cannot see it, your mail storage area is just about full. So small letters are getting through. But anything over say 500 K is getting bounced. If you are using an e-mail reader then if your server has a Web site mail access you might take a look at it and see if there are some large files in your mail storage area which you cannot see with your e-mail reader.
