Terrible science...A quake that big near Redding? What sort of rip would that cause and on what fault capable?

I can see the Space Needle falling and maybe much worse in Seattle due to an expected subduction quake...but that still has another 100 years or so for its window...

My kid has been asking me if Cal could fall into the ocean...Of course not...At least not without the whole world being destroyed along with Cal.

There is a recent updated equation which tell how long a rip might be in any mag.....As I remember.. Sue told me that a 9 on the Andreas (only place capable at the time north of the Bay, in Cal) would cause a rip of 600 plus miles...but a 10.5 and on an unknown fault? Don't think so.
