John, you may or may not be correct-I have not read the Science paper in a couple of years. But, I think that paper was the first time that it showed that the waves would bounce around and amplify for, I think, over a minute. Also, I don't think that the strong motions along the Santa Monica fault for the Northridge earthquake would have been predicted before hand (basin edge effect).
