This new earthquake forecasting Perl program is now working so well that I decided to immediately expand it so that it could be used by people around the world for earthquake and tornado applications. And I am presently in the process of converting the last of my major programs to Perl. That effort should be done some time this week. The program relies on sun and moon location data as well as ocean tide and Solid Earth Tide data. Routines can be added to it which would enable it to generate those types of data itself. But for the moment what I have done is generate them for the year 2004 and store them in a number of large text data files. The program then checks those data files for the information it needs. I personally believe that this program might have the potential to revolutionize the sciences of earthquake and perhaps even tornado forecasting and perhaps soon dramatically reduce the number of earthquakes deaths which occur every year. When this first version becomes available computer programmers and researchers around the world should be able to rapidly expand it capabilities.
