The point is that any quake that happens on the same day will have the same JDN. Look at quakes 8,9 and 10. They are on the same day with times spanning the whole day but they have the same JDN.

Now if you want me to look at 24 hour periods from the time of each quake that's a different story. Then quakes on different days could be within the same array cell.

Ya gotta be more precise with programmers!
