Interesting article.I just read the article in the "Proceedings of National Academy of Sciences" by J Rundle. It looks like it is more location forecasts for earthquakes to occur in the next decade. The five 5+ earthquakes that fell within their locations were in Central and Southern California from 2000 thru May 2003. It looks like the San Simeon earthquake in December did not occur in one of their forecast areas. The closest forecast area I saw in the report to the San Simeon earthquake was a location around Coalinga.
It still looks pretty impressive though.
