Hi Chris. Sorry to hear you’re having one of those “bad hair days.” Know the feeling, as I have been there myself a couple of times. Saw the programs you’re talking about. They were fascinating. Kind of makes you stop and think about how close we came to being extinct and that it doesn’t take very much to bring this about. Of course the human pool was much smaller then, but the next eruption could be even bigger then the one 70,000 years ago, which would in turn be nearly the same as that one. Do you by any chance know what the crustal thickness is in the Coso Volcanic Fields, the Owens Valley area, up to the Mammoth Lakes area? I know in the Coso Volcanic Fields there are some places where it is about 8Km thick, but this is in the areas of small magma chambers.
