Re: Chris, tell me more about GOCAD |
Roger, see link. GOCAD is true 3D, it can be done with shifted colors so it is 3D with blue-green glasses, it can be rotated in any direction. It can be animated anyway that I choose to animate it-I've been doing it in space-fly throughs, but i can be done by time. I have a couple of BASIC programs that run on my ancient MAC that take FPS nodal plane format and put out GOCAD (with a lot of conversions steps). Besides X Y Z, I have this use about 8 other properties-like CUSP number, magnitude, location quality, focal mechanism quality, strike, dip, rake of preferred plane, and date/time. I have nice a nice little polygon representation of slip planes, with arrows showing the slip direction and slip sense on each side of each nodal plane.....I have figures showing this representation I can send if you want them.....(they are in my past SCEC report-probably 2002).
