John, A Lame Brain Question For You |
Hi John. Have a lame brain question for you. Looking at the “felt it map” for the 11/06/2003 quake 6 miles north of Morgan Hill would it be safe to say that the Bay Area is more susceptible to shaking then the surrounding areas with a few exceptions? The shake map shows a ENE/WSW trend. Both the first motion mechanism and moment tensor solution indicates the quake occurred on a thrust fault. The only thrust fault that I know of in that area is the Silver Creek Fault and is located west of the Calaveras Fault.
