Hello, over the past day there has been what appears to be a significant strain increase on the St Vincent's SF Bay Mini PBO strain meter(30 day plot). This strain meter covers most of Marin County and Southern Sonoma County in California. I didn't see an increase of strain on the other SF Bay Area mini PBO strain meters so the increase of strain is probably to the north of the St Vincent's site- covering the area around the southern Rogers Creek fault near Petaluma or possibly the San Andreas to the west. Don's post about the Mini PBO data last April mentions that the meters measure strain out to about 35 miles. The other sites aren't showing significant increases so the increase in strain probably isn't much to the east or south of the St Vincent's site. I've been checking the mini PBO site daily for about a 10 months now and this appears to be the largest increase of strain I've seen on the St Vincent's site. Last month I noticed a decrease of strain on the Ohlone site about 72 hours before some 3.5's near Lafayette and two smaller EQ's in the San Pablo bay. So, lets see how much further the strain changes and keep an eye out on activity around Sonoma and Marin counties. I guess Petra might get a chance soon to feel some shaking soon. steve s
