Hi Don Well, I don't claim to be a seismologist, and I appreciate the comments of those who are, but my method is to follow the numbers. I got the full and new moon relationship from Sandi Harrington, and have just looked at the data for the perigees of the moon (close points). There was a statistical increase in the number of quakes during the close perigees, with the number increased by both full and new moon in proximity to the perigees. The Sept. 28th perigee is in between in proximity to the earth, but the moon was only two days away. In my data I look at three days before and after the perigee. I expect a little over three quakes, and this time found a bonanza, which is continuing. As far as location is concerned I can only use recent forequakes and regional estimates, e.g. a 5M or greater in the elbow of the Pacific fault north east of Fiji usually is followed by a big quake from the Loyalty Islands to the Solomons. There already was a 5.7 in the Tonga Trench south of that elbow that I am waiting for a response to. But then these are deep quakes, but I feel important for Mediterranean quakes, which are my interest. There is an active seamount off the southwest coast of Sicily. There apparently were two volcanic emissions in Central America since Thursday (Fuego and Santa Maria) which I am not surprised at. Best, Donald
