Hi Chris and John. Thanks for the information. Interesting about the M>6.0 quakes. Was a time period and or distance given. Also I’m not sure I would consider an M>6.0 a small quake. One of them in the right place at the right time can do a lot of damage. Of course it wouldn’t be equal to an M>8.0, but to the people involved that had damage, or killed it wouldn’t matter what the magnitude was. I think I posted this once before so if I did I apologize for posting it again. If is felt that the Loma Prieta quake wasn’t triggered by the two M>5.0+ that occurred 15 months and 2 months before the quake. The two quakes allowed enough room for the fault to slip in the area that it did. Up until those two quakes the fault in that area was to tightly compressed for anything to move. It is felt that the southern segment of Rodgers Creek Fault may be experiencing the same thing. I see the controversy about the San Andreas Fault being a weak fault or a strong fault hasn’t been solved. Probably never will be either. Again Thank You for the information. It’s always appreciated. Take Care…Don in creepy town
