Roger, Our work sees up to 85% of the earthquakes at the tides of encouraging normal stress in the locations where the tides are the largest: 0.2-0.5 of a bar. These large tides are mainly shallow-angle subduction events very near the coast. This is not a correlation with the envelopes, as espoused by syzygy, but with the stress itself, as we traditionally have looked for. I don't see our abstract online, although I see a workshop I am co-chairing for hard-core seismic enthusiasts.
