August and September Geomagnetic Storms
|

All I'm not sure what to make of this, but the past two weeks of geomagnetic storms have made me feel like I was run over by a steamroller. This is from www.spaceweather.com,/URL> :AURORA SEASON: In less than one month Northern autumn will begin--and that means aurora season is beginning, too. Geomagnetic storms tend to be most intense during the weeks around the September equinox because the interplanetary magnetic field (IMF) near Earth tips farther south than usual. South-pointing IMFs encourage auroras. Already in August, sky watchers as far south as Arizona and California have been enjoying colorful Northern Lights. Donald
