Hurricane headed up Gulf of California |
Since Lowell is not posting, I'll point out that Hurricane Ignacio is 90 knots and getting stronger. It is forcast to be still 60 knots at the northern end of the Gulf of California in 5 days (although these forecasts of intensity are not much use). Lowell has his ideas on EQs and hurricanes....it does seem like storm surges piling up on coasts could do something-this is alomost mainstream, as the loads can be calculated....I find it unlikely that the low atmospheric pressure can do anything, because at sea it is compensated by a bulge in the sea surface, so pressures at the seafloor should not change much....So, if someone wants to link to a catalogue of Baja/Gulf of California quakes, might be interesting...Chris Follow Ups: ● Re: Hurricane headed up Gulf of California - Canie 10:29:55 - 8/24/2003 (19320) (0) |
