Re: High accuracy Wave Chart based earthquake forecast |
Increasingly hectic schedules are starting to make it a little difficult to respond to posts in any type of timely manner. But here are two points: 1. You have to remember that the advisories etc. that I circulate are for earthquakes which are likely to occur near populated areas instead of the innumerable harmless ones which occur every year. India is a large country. And destructive earthquakes do not occur there that often. The fact that I was able to identify both the location and date for a strongly felt one was remarkable. In fact that accuracy was much better than I would normally expect. 2. As pointed out in other notes, major changes could be on the horizon for the science of forecasting earthquakes. For one example, I am presently talking with people about a possible TV documentary regarding this science. If the subject matter were discussed in the right manner I believe that it might open some important doors and sweep away large amounts of inaccurate information which have been circulating for years. As I have also stated, much of this progress will probably depend on who can find time to do what.
