Hi Chris,

Well near is not the same as being on top of the San Andreas Fault, where Don and I ate lunch today. However, I decided to take a walk on the Earthquake Trail despite warnings of Coyote's and got a really unpleasant surprise.

First I walked half of the trail and decided to go back the way I came as it was cooler and on my way back suddenly I spotted this really large yellowish colored Coyote about 6 feet away from me. I heard the sounds of crackling of small branches and that's what alerted me to its presence.

The local warning signs and also Don's advice was to look big and make loud sounds. As you know, I'm not big and I was to afraid to make a sound, so I walked as fast as I could away from there. Talk about scary. I was sure at any moment he was going to be there and eating me. It was horrible. I was so scared.

Earthquakes don't bother me, but wild animals do. I'm not going on the trail by myself anymore. That's twice now that we've been out in search of an earthquake and got a wild animal instead. No thanks for a third time.

I'm home now and ready for a natural event, they call an earthquake.

Petra
