I would think that using the San Juan Bautista area for anything would be picking a very unusual area to base anything on as it is under constant slip. I don't think there is any other area along the SAF that exhibits this same behavior, so I don't think it would be meaningful to apply anything learned in that area to anything else. And Don suggested between Portola Valley and the SF Penninsula was a possibility for the next quake - Is there a map somewhere on the net showing the rupture from the 4 quakes Don mentioned? Is this working on the Gap theory or is it because the 4 quakes mentioned all seem to be in Santa Cruz county?
