Petra - I don't think its the fact you hear a tone that may be objected to by science - what the scientist wants to do is measure what you are hearing - until they can do that, the door will slam in the face.

Is there any chance you can research just what it is you are hearing and how to measure it? (gee... just as I have a slight one in the left ear!)
