Hi Mary - I agree with the notion that its tough to build for those tornados - but from what I understand, not all homes have storm cellars - or safe places - I think there should be some structure, probably below ground, that people have stocked like we'd stock up for an earthquake. Or at the very least, community shelters that aren't far away (close enough to run to) where a few homes share the shelter. I'm glad the storm warnings seem to be getting better.

My comments on the building codes was referring to earthquakes and not those tornados.
