Hi Petra. Well I guess we won’t be going on a field trip. It’s very close to the “dead end” where we had to turn around to get back down the mountain.

Did a little further check on this quake as well as some past quakes. What I found is that this quake is almost the same distance east of the Rodgers Creek fault as the Bennett Valley quake of 1999.

The Bennett Valley quake had a reverse motion meaning that it most likely didn’t occur on the Rodgers Creek fault. There is no “moment tensor solution” for this most recent quake, but I would suspect that it also had the same motion as the Bennett Valley quake. Take Care…Don in creepy town
