SUCCESS?

It presently looks like this effort will be successful. I plotted earthquake occurrence times for about 250 earthquakes versus different types of data such as the positions of the sun and the moon in the sky and Earth acceleration in space. And I believe that they show that there is a good correlation between the different types of data. If that is in fact the case then I would expect that these types of data will have an important role in the future of earthquake triggering and earthquake forecasting research.

Earthquakes for the years 1990 to the present were organized into 4 groups, ones which produced 100 or more fatalities, and 7.0 to 7.4, 7.5 to 7.9, and 8 and greater magnitudes. The lower magnitude ones tended to look somewhat random if the data were not carefully evaluated. However I believe that the links between the triggering times for the higher magnitude earthquakes, especially those over 8 magnitude and sun and moon position etc. are crystal clear.

Getting all of the data plots aligned with one another has been a nightmare! I expect that it may take another week of effort to get the data checked, properly formatted, and stored in a GIF file for general circulation.

Once again, if you wish to see what those data look like you can visit that Grandunification Web site. My own data look somewhat like the ones stored there. But my file contains about 10 different types of data in addition to the 4 earthquake data groups.
