If you would like to know why so little progress is being made in the science of understanding how earthquakes are being triggered then the discussions being held in this bulletin board might be indicating where some of the major problems lie.

I began this discussion in the Newsgroups some time around January 9, 2003. It is now two full months later. And after all of this time and all of the notes that have been posted to this board and to the Newsgroups John and I are in my opinion still not even talking about the same subject matter.

I feel that John is or should be one of the more knowledgeable people around for discussions in this area. And the fact that we are both still comparing "apples and oranges" is indicating to me why so little progress has been made. People are not even able to agree on what is being discussed.

What I am talking about is not incomprehensible. It is almost exactly the same thing that is being discussed at the following Web site:

It will be interesting to see if we will eventually begin talking about the same thing and also see how long it will take for that to happen. The subject of how earthquakes are being triggered is in my opinion an important one.
