Re: Volcanoes and Lava puzzler |
I have no objection to posting interesting material on volcanos and lava... I personally don't have a bit of faith in anything that creation science has to offer. I have studied Geology since 1997 and do think that the mainstream geology teachings are the correct ones. The world is round and not flat. I have run across a few who believe in creation science in my school studies - other students who have not studied any science so I am not unfamiliar with the subject. Your questions were based in creation science and to me that is a pseudo-science and has no business at this site. This is the second recent post you've made on the subject. I welcome all comers who want to advance the cause of earthquake prediction be it scientific or earth-sensitives. This is a place to share ideas on those subjects. I also welcome any discussions on other earth-changing events such as global warming, vocanos, etc. My hope in discouraging your post was not to have to argue premises, such as this example, from your post: The earth’s mantle and inner core are essentially solid. This is the first error in your question - the mantle is solid but can deform slowly in a plastic manner. The entire rest of your post is based on an incorrect assumption taken from a site having to do with Christianity and creation science. As I said, this is not a forum to discuss religious issues. I have been taugh that it is fruitless to argue with those who's arguments are based in faith and not facts. No lava puzzler. I don't like to waste time with fallacies and don't want this forum to have a reputation as welcoming creation science. I don't welcome it and don't believe it and never will. Roger did suggest that there are other boards that do enjoy those types of conversations and would be appropriate sites for that type of material. I've never been neutral when it comes to the subject of creation science.
