Dr. Whiteside,

Do you know how close that Mexico earthquake came to being inside one of those high probability RingMap areas? The map that Canie posted here does not have enough resolution on my monitor for me to determine that myself.

The reason for asking is that I am planning to try to send a report to government officials in Mexico discussing that earthquake. And if the RingMap program was successful in showing where it might occur then I would like to add that information to my report.

Regarding my own precursor data, my analyses indicate to me that a number of warning type signals detected during the past few months were probably pointing to that earthquake. And I have had an earthquake advisory active for about 2 months. However my data point to multiple possible locations for an approaching earthquake. And if I am not expecting it to be catastrophic then I have recently simply been circulating advisories for the location where I thought the information could do the most good. And in this case that location was for a Mediterranean Sea area country. Similarly, shortly before the destructive October 31, 2002 earthquake in Italy I had circulated an advisory for a country farther to the east.

That latest advisory was a major milestone in this effort. Even though it appears to have been for the wrong location it represented the first time that I have been able to follow the progress of the same approaching earthquake for more than a few weeks. And if I had been able to spend more time evaluating the data I could probably have warned the government of Mexico about it. My data clearly pointed to the location of the following earthquake as a strong candidate:

19MAY2001 23:21:43 18.7N 104.2W MS=6.3
NEIC NEAR COAST OF JALISCO, MEXICO

And that recent Mexico earthquake occurred at the following location:

2003/01/22 02:06:36 18.89N 103.88W 33.0 7.8
COLIMA, MEXICO

(NEIC and/or RedPuma data)

These are personal opinions.
