My quick review seemed to indicate that Brown said the earth had a solid core then a fluid region then the mantle then the water layer and then the granite/basalt....

This is in contast to what Morton had understood above (as indicated).

Of course, when I finish reading Brown's I will revisit Morton's analysis again.

Anyway, there may be some effect on his outcome espcially when weighing in other factors.
