3.2 near Santa Cruz Island fault |
Hi all, there was a M3.2 located east of Anacapa island, very close to the Malibu Coast-Santa Cruz Island fault. This is my favorite fault system-I spnet maybe 80 or 100 days on Santa Cruz and Santa Rosa Islands over the years, and just submitted a paper to BSSA on the Santa Monica-Dume fault, which probably spills over into the Malibu Coast-Santa Cruz Island fault. This system is predominently left-lateral at the surface, but reverse quakes could also occur along the trend. I have to make a digital map on the Malibu Coast-Santa Cruz Island fault for the SCEC community fault map....
