Re: AGU Kickoff |
Hi Logan, I'll just answer the question about why I thought I had to be there. Its the culmination of an entire years work. In January 1999 I wanted to know why we don't have public earthquake prediction delivered by the scientific community to the American public. In order to find out I decided the topic was worthy of a book, but now have found, its actually worthy of several. Today I know why we don't have public earthquake prediction, but I don't know all I wish to know about our "people of science." This year I had the great good fortune of meeting and getting to know the cream of the crop of seismologists and geologists. I can say truthfully I loved every one of them and found each one as special as the next. Some old, some young, some inbetween, but every one brightly inspired, eager to learn more than they know and are mostly willing to share much of what they know with a deterministic woman like me who never gives up and keeps telling them, keep at it, one day, you'll have it. But along the way I made a few discoveries of my own and that's something I'll share with you in the new millennium. I've been doing my research in several different area's. Some in the field and some indoors, so soon I'll give you a visual of my discoveries. Sound interesting? They are! But I want to keep the suspense for just a little longer because my visual isn't quite finished yet, but as soon as it is, then I'll gladly share it with all of you. I've got one more day at the AGU on Wednesday and with that, its a wrap, I think. *grin* Pat in Petaluma Follow Ups: ● Re: AGU Kickoff - Canie 17:43:14 - 12/14/1999 (1780) (1) ● Re: AGU Kickoff - Pat In Petaluma 01:27:05 - 12/15/1999 (1783) (0) |
