Hi Chris. Thanks for the lesson. Learn something new every day. Now comes the $64.00 question. Will the next future swarm be south of this one, or will it start over again at the beginning, wherever that’s at? As you already know there was a quake with a magnitude of M>5.7 to M>6.9 in 1861. There was a reported surface rupture of 13Km. It was near the area of the current swarm on the Calaveras fault. No record of a swarm before this quake. However as you pointed out. Sometimes a large quake will follow a swarm and sometimes it won’t. Take Care…Don in creepy town
