The cutoff was 3 or more for S. Ca., 7 or more for New Guinea.

The numbers are daily totals and are cumulative where more than one big quake happened.

I did not try to remove aftershock sequences but it's a pretty good bet that the really large totals are such.

I've tried graphing these numbers but you really don't see anything that the numbers don't show just as well.
