Hey Lowell: Yes...I believe your subject heading. You have cited a very interesting example. Compelling as it may seem...it may still be a coincidence. What if the Alaska M7.9 had some influence in this quake ? Surface waves "greasing the fault" or something ...(as has been mentioned in past posts on this board). Anyway, there was a prediction out on usenet covering that general area (posted on 26 Oct). What about the current aftershock sequencing in AK being a harbinger of an incoming M8+ ? What does history say about that ? Seems like Don would have something to say about that as well...
