Palmer, Alaska, Nov. 3 - A major earthquake rocked Alaska Sunday. A U.S. Geological Survey geologist is calling it the "Big One." The shallow quake has left thousands of people across the state shaking.

"This is the biggest earthquake this century in Interior Alaska," said Paul Whitmore with the Alaska Tsunami Warning Center.
The epicenter of Sunday's earthquake was just north of Cantwell, but it was felt as far away as Whitehorse, Canada, as well as in Juneau and Ketchikan.
