GOES-8 VISIBLE INFRARED AND MULTISPECTRAL IMAGERY. U.S. NUMERICAL MODEL WIND FORECAST. ERUPTION DETAILS: A SIGNIFICANT ERUPTION AT 2213 UTC AND A SERIES OF ERUPTIONS THROUGHOUT THE DAY. DETAILS OF ASH CLOUD: THE GEOPHYSICAL INSTITUTE IN ECUADOR REPORTS A NEW ERUPTION AT 2213 UTC. SATELLITE IMAGERY THROUGH 2245 UTC SHOWS THICK ASH FROM THIS ERUPTION MOVING TO THE SOUTH SOUTHEAST AND SOUTHWEST. ASH IS MUCH HIGHER THAN THE LOW WEATHER CLOUDS IN THE VICINITY OF THE VOLCANO BUT IS ESTIMATED TO BE BELOW FL450. AT 2245 UTC ASH WAS APPROXIMATELY BOUNDED BY 0.2S 78.6W TO 0.2S 78.9W TO 0.6S 78.6W TO 0.4S 78.1W TO 0.2S 78.6W BUT THIS AREA SEEMS TO BE EXPANDING RAPIDLY.
