Hi Lowell, Do you have any idea as to whether or not the solar flare which occurred last evening would have made this quake more likely, or possibly increased the magnitude of the quake? If I recall correctly in the past we've talked about increased activity after solar flares in volcanic regions. I think that would include Hector Mine along with the quakes today in the Mammoth Lakes Area and the 4.5 which occurred in Alaska, which was outside of the 6.7 shock zone from last week. Of course now having said that, this leaves us up to conjecture about other possible locations which may have quakes within the next ten days, such as The Pinnacles, The Geysers with something larger than a 3, Ukiah and how about Bombay Beach? Or a true rarity, Bennett Valley. I'm rooting for something in my area. It's been far to long since I got to feel that good old rock and roll feeling. Petra
