Hi Don. Those are some interesting comments about your earthquake forecasts. If you have any more conversations with your earthquake forecast data suppliers then you might ask them to contact me. Perhaps by comparing notes we could get the science of earthquake forecasting to move forward a little faster. The problem here is not with prediction publicity but rather with simple lack of interest in any type of forecasting procedures. A forecast program which I have promoted internationally, perhaps much more than my own is the sun shadow based method which Shan has developed. Like him, I feel that if it works it could be ideal for developing nations. His forecasts are circulated in public. And he is apparently willing to give the technology to other people for free. However, it is my understanding that not a single private party, research group, or government has ever contacted him and asked for instructions. The AIDS epidemic has reportedly gotten into the medical blood supply in one particular country. And it spreading like wildfire and decimating towns and villages everywhere. How often do you hear about it in the news? With elections just a short time away, have you ever heard even one candidate discuss it? The science of forecasting earthquakes is not the only important subject getting inadequate attention.
