Hi 2 Cents, I don't think the hum would be associated with a slow earthquake because what I believe sensitive people hear is the sound of rocks fracturing. This sound is not like a hum at all. Even during a slow earthquake it is not one continuous movement, so the sounds a sensitive would hear would be intermitent, not continuous. Do you recall the "hum" thing that was going on in Taos, NM? To my knowledge they never have solved the mystery as to where its coming from, but those who can hear it find it irritating, can't sleep and are grumpy because they aren't sleeping. Then there was the "hum" in Sausalito which turned out to be from a certain kind of fish which only made the "hum" sound during mating season. So perhaps its a fish thing?
