We've often seen posts from Lowell in which he references Z values. I found a nifty little visual of 16 slides on the attached link prepared by Stefan Weimer.

Its very easy to understand, has good visuals and the text button for full explanations is to the far right of button choices. It is a little slow loading, but is packed full of very good educational material.
