I can vouch for the accuracy of Mike's method.

He and I had a long running battle on Syzygy until I understood exactly what he was doing and was able to independently replicate it.

His new moon - perigee windows catch more windows than they should by chance.

The problem is that location is undefined and since the windows are typically small, the total number captured is also small.
