Ok - this may be no big deal - but it's one to ponder . . .

On Saturday at about 10:15am I was fishing off of Ventura with a buddy. We were approximately 3/4 off shore due west 1 mile south of Ventura.

A thresher shark completely breached out of the water about 2 to 3 feet in the air. The shark was about 5 feet with the tail. The shark breached at least twice and didn't appear to be being chased by a larger predator.

I have never seen anything like this. Further, I have never seen a shark breach as such.

Just for the record and for those that take interest in animal activity as it might relate to seismic events . . . .
