I learned about the "new cup" the hard way a few years back. In my case the cup blew up in my hand. (a Corelle cup) Luckily not hurt too bad, just enough of a blister to remind me not to do that again. I learned to leave that cup just sit there a bit and then before taking it out, reach a long handled spoon or something in to stir it a little first. My microwave didn't have that warning, wonder if they all do now?
