Canie, if you see this note and have time then you might comment on the accuracy of this information and see if there is an answer for the question at the end of the note.

Don, without being an expert in this area I am guessing that your Internet server does not presently have the “jamesoberg.com” domain name in its name registry list. And that is the reason that you and Petra cannot access his Web site. If you wanted to go through the trouble you could probably send an e-mail note to your webmaster and ask that it be included. And they might then add it to their list.

It is my understanding that some organization keeps track of domain names. And they circulate lists of them on a regular basis. Individual Internet servers then use those lists so that they know the “real” address of a particular domain name. Some times names either get lost or are slow to be added to a server’s own list. The EarthWaves group had a glitch a short time ago. And it took several days for the site domain name to get recirculated to different servers. I myself could not access it for a few days. But other people could. Their servers probably added the EarthWaves domain name to their lists before mine did.

Canie, if there is no problem with our learning about it, does the Earthwaves board have an alternate address which does not rely on the domain name? It might look something like:
