Hi EQF - Unfortunately there is a basic flaw in this thought process - Considering the logarythmic relationship of the energy released from one quake magnitude' to the next. The energy of a 4Ml quake is 32 times the energy of a 3Ml quake.

Lets say you want to 'trigger' 4.0 quakes to avoid the 8.0 looming on the horizon. You would need to create 810,000 4.0 quakes to avoid that 1-8.0. I don't think I could personally handle 810,000 4.0 quakes!
