Regarding the next eruption... maybe if the russians are right about our solar system plunging into a higher energy space cloud the earth could see renewed increases in volcanism all over (even the dormant ones). The 10,500 years ago & 4300 years ago eruption peak intervals have some near (give or take) Mayan clock frequencies in them...suggesting a cosmic rhythm of sorts. Guess we'll be finding out come 2012 (or sooner) if there's any truth to the Mayan end of the (or start of a new) world clock scenario.

Well...if you ever get out to the summit and feel like running an experiment let me know. If has something to do with mapping a latent type of energy...more likely found (more visible) in active volcanoes (possibly).

Ever bag any deer in a volcanoe rock area ? Doesn't seem like it would support the right vegetation.....
