The rules for the first M3 or > contest are that it has to be in California or U.S Borderlands waters, so the Baja earthquake will not do (I wanted to exclude Calexico aftershocks, and I wanted to see the earthquake on the USGS map. By the way, the M4.1 is not on the NEIC list of significant earthquakes or on the USGS map (the map I used to call the SCEC map). Is the magnitude perhaps smaller (been adjusted downwards?). Yes, Lowell has explained that the USGS map is not kept up as well as certain other lists, and it might be out of the area posted. Chris
