I just realized that, not being restricted by working for the gov't any longer,
and not being the originator or judge in this contest, I can actually provide
an entry. My first choice would be about the same as Don's San Fernando
earthquake, but seems more likely on May 8 instead of May 6. But since
Don has already made that forecast, my entry will be:

These L.A. earthquakes always happen on a Sunday, don't they? I was reading
an article on the Lander's earthquake earlier tonight - that, and the Big Bear
quakes were also on a Sunday. I would have guessed May 5, the prior Sunday,
but that is too close to Don's forecast - althought probably more likely to be right.
