Hi Shan; Don't worry about the evaluation. I use the CNSS data exclusively now and it takes a while for it to get updated. There is no one single source that is 100% correct or even best. Local nets are best for local quakes. CNSS is good for California and most global events. NEIC is good for global events above 4.0 or so. Since the current info was not in the database, the evaluation looks for others that might fit. Did .02 say foreshocks or aftershocks? If you could tell foreshocks in advance, that would be great! As to aftershocks, there is no hard and fast rule. Some say they continue for years. Roger
