Hi Roger. It has been noted that when ever the operators of the geothermal plant inject water back into the ground for the purpose of creating more steam for the units there is an increase in quake activity. It can't be proven that this is the cause of some of the quakes, but it can't be proven that it's not. It however still has to be taken into consideration, or should be. Using a computer to elimanate all human intervention is great in most cases, but there are time that by doing this a important piece of the puzzle could be missed. Also this quake isn't that far removed from the twin quakes that shook Santa Rosa in Oct. 1969. Could it have been an aftershock of those two quakes? I just wanted to point out that the quake did occur near Santa Rosa, and that there is some eveidence that the quakes at the geysers could be man made. When we let a machine do the thinking for us it will at times miss an important item. All I'm saying is that I posted for a quake near Santa Rosa and there was one near Santa Rosa and not a part of the geysers geothermal field. At least I hope it isn't. Because if it is we could be in for a lot trouble down the road. Take Care...Don in creepy town
