As long as you are talking patterns, I had noticed that about a week ago the SCEC map was showing quite a band of seismicity just south of the surface front of the western Transverse Ranges (along the north edge of Los Angeles basin and farther east). The 4.6 NW of Santa Barbara island fell along this band.....Chris
